Scientific results obtained in the field of organ machine perfusion at the Alexander Natishvili Institute of Morphology have laid the foundation for a new international research collaboration.
In 2025, the Institute, in partnership with the University Medical Center Groningen and the University Hospital of Seville, developed and submitted an international Twinning project under the Horizon Europe programme.
The project aims to strengthen collaboration in machine perfusion and translational transplantation research, with the goal of advancing organ preservation approaches. The project proposal, No. 101340161, was submitted under Horizon Europe’s Widening Participation and Strengthening the European Research Area (Twinning) programme.
This initiative represents an important step towards integrating the Institute’s ongoing experimental research into international research networks.
