Alexander Natishvili Institute of Morphology is an independent scientific research unit of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, bringing together fundamental and applied biomedical research, modern morphological and molecular methods, and clinical pathology.
Founded in 1946, the Institute continues the scientific traditions of the Georgian school of morphology and, through the application of modern research approaches, contributes to the advancement of biomedical sciences, the training of young researchers, and international scientific collaboration.

The Institute Today
Today, the Alexander Natishvili Institute of Morphology brings together fundamental and applied biomedical research, modern morphological and molecular methods, and clinical pathology.
The Institute’s scientific activities include research on the morphology and pathology of organs and systems, liver regeneration and transplantation, the molecular basis of diseases, digital pathology, and the application of nanotechnological approaches in biomedicine.
Alongside its research activities, the Institute operates a Clinical Pathology Diagnostic Center and specialized research laboratories.

Founded in 1946 on the initiative of Academician Alexander Natishvili, the Institute has played an important role in the development of morphological and biomedical sciences in Georgia for eight decades. The Institute’s history is closely linked to the development of the Georgian school of anatomy and morphology, the establishment of new research areas, and the introduction of modern methods.
